Kashii

Kashii's nightlife is defined by the warm glow of snack bars where locals drop in casually. Near the station, hostess bars and girls bars line the streets, bustling with regulars rather than tourists. It's not flashy, but the homey atmosphere is its charm.

Kashii is the central station in Higashi Ward, Fukuoka City, where JR Kashii Line and Nishitetsu Kaizuka Line intersect. The station area is packed with shopping streets and restaurants, transforming into a nightlife hub after dark. It's about 20 minutes by train from Tenjin or Nakasu.

The nightlife core is in the back alleys within a 5-minute walk from the station. There are about 10 hostess bars, with rates around 5,000–8,000 yen per hour. Girls bars are more casual, with cover charges of 1,000–2,000 yen. Snack bars number over 30, serving as adult social spots where you chat with the mama.

Concept cafes and host clubs are rare; the scene is locally oriented. Don't expect flashy tourist services, but you'll get an authentic Fukuoka night. Knowing some Japanese enhances the experience.

Visit on a Friday or Saturday night. The local style is to have a light drink at an izakaya near the station, then bar-hop to snack bars or girls bars. Many places are cash-only, so bring enough cash.

Taxis are available at the station, but can be hard to flag late at night. Last trains are around 11 PM, so watch your drinking. English is rarely spoken; learning a few Japanese phrases helps.
