Taisho Town

Taisho Town is a nightlife area behind the arcade street extending from Omuta Station, bustling with local regulars. While the main street has many shuttered shops, step into the alleyways and neon lights glow, with snack bars warmly welcoming you.

The area is about a 5-minute walk from JR Omuta Station. Pass through the shopping street in front of the station and enter the narrow alleys along the prefectural road, where restaurants and nightlife venues cluster. Located in central Omuta, it's easily accessible by car.

Nightlife in Taisho Town centers on snack bars. Over 30 snack bars line the streets, characterized by a homey atmosphere with mama-san and regulars. There are also a few hostess bars and girls bars catering to younger crowds. Prices are reasonable: snack bars cost around 3,000–5,000 yen per hour.

Hostess bars charge 5,000–8,000 yen per hour including table charge. Girls bars are more casual, around 2,000–4,000 yen. Overall, the area is locally oriented with more repeat customers than tourists.

For first-timers, it's best to check local info magazines near the station or ask staff at the storefronts. Few places offer English service, so bring a translation app. Friday and Saturday nights are busiest; weekdays are quieter.
