Inside, the nomination system is common: guests can request a specific host by name for a more personalized experience. Charges typically include an entrance fee, drink charges, nomination fees, and set course fees. Optional services such as "dohan" (accompanying the host outside) and "after" (post-shift socializing) incur additional costs.

Host clubs differ from cabaret clubs and girls' bars in that the staff are predominantly male. Unlike regular bars or lounges, the emphasis is on conversation and entertainment provided by the hosts.
