In-store nomination (jōnai shimei) is a system where a customer directly requests a specific cast member who is present in the venue at the time of visit. This is commonly used when visiting a venue for the first time or when arriving without a prior reservation.

Cast members are stationed inside the venue, allowing customers to see them in person before making a choice. This makes it easier to gauge the atmosphere and personal compatibility. Once nominated, the cast member joins the customer's table to provide conversation and drink service.

An in-store nomination typically incurs a nomination fee on top of the base charge. Fees vary by venue and cast rank, generally ranging from a few thousand yen to around 10,000 yen. Popular cast members may have a wait time due to high demand.

As a matter of etiquette, switching a nominated cast member mid-session is uncommon. If you are unsatisfied, you can consult the staff to arrange a different cast member, though additional charges may apply.
