Ureshino City

Ureshino City is a hot spring town in southwestern Saga Prefecture. During the day it bustles with tourists, but at night the atmosphere becomes calm and relaxed. Strolling through the hot spring area, you'll find small snack bars and girls bars scattered here and there.

Geographically, the center is the Ureshino Onsen district, with many restaurants and nightspots within walking distance from the station. However, the scale is not large; nightlife venues exist as part of the hot spring town rather than a separate entertainment district.

The nightlife scene centers on snack bars and girls bars. Snack bars are small, often run by a mama-san, where you can enjoy karaoke and chat with locals. Girls bars are relatively new, with young female staff serving drinks. Prices are reasonable, typically around 2,000–3,000 yen per hour.

Kyabakura (hostess bars) and host clubs are almost nonexistent, and concept cafes or lounges are rare. So if you're looking for flashy nightlife, this might be underwhelming, but it's perfect for those who want a quiet drink combined with a hot spring visit.

Access: about a 10-minute walk from JR Ureshino Onsen Station to the hot spring area. Buses and taxis are also available. Most places close by 10 PM, and few stay open late, so it's best to visit early.

Etiquette: In snack bars, chatting with the mama and regulars is key. In girls bars, confirm the cover charge before entering. English is rarely spoken, so learning a few basic Japanese phrases will help.
