Hasuda

Exiting the east exit of Hasuda Station, you're greeted by quiet residential streets. As night falls, lights flicker on in small buildings near the station. There's no flashy Tokyo-style scene here, but a down-to-earth nightlife where locals drop by after work.

Hasuda City is in eastern Saitama, about 50 minutes from Tokyo on the JR Utsunomiya Line. The main area is around the station, with nightlife spots within walking distance. Small signs line the alleys just off the main street.

The nightlife centers on snack bars and girls bars. Snack bars attract regulars in their 30s–40s, offering karaoke in a homey atmosphere. Girls bars have younger staff and are more casual, focusing on drinks. Kyabakura and host clubs are almost nonexistent, and concept cafes are absent.

There are about 20–30 establishments. Snack bars cost ¥3,000–5,000 per hour including cover charge; girls bars charge ¥500–1,000 per drink. Since it's local-oriented, English is rarely spoken.

Access is within a 5-minute walk from JR Hasuda Station. Busiest on Friday and Saturday from 9 PM to 11 PM. Many places close on Sundays. For first-timers, try snack bar "Kaguya" or girls bar "Lapis" near the station.

Note: Snack bars rely on conversation with the mama and regulars, so limited Japanese may be challenging. Girls bars are more open, but basic Japanese or a translation app helps. Taxis wait at the station but are scarce.
