Shibuya is the district around Shibuya Station in Shibuya ward, presented by GO TOKYO as the place where the Scramble Crossing became a symbol of Tokyo's energy.
GO TOKYO lists the Keio Inokashira Line, the Tokyu Toyoko and Den-en-toshi lines and the Tokyo Metro Ginza, Hanzomon and Fukutoshin lines at Shibuya Station, in addition to the JR lines.
GO TOKYO presents the Scramble Crossing as a symbol of the city's energy and points to Udagawacho and Maruyamacho as the streets for record shopping. On its nightlife page, the vibe in Shibuya is described as a bit more hip and a little less mainstream.

Shibuya is generally fine for a night out. The main risk is bottakuri, a padded bill at the end. Stick to venues that post their prices, skip street touts steering you into ‘free’ bars, and confirm the set fee plus any nomination or bottle charges before you order.
