Yotsuya / Ichigaya / Iidabashi

Yotsuya, Ichigaya, and Iidabashi form a central Tokyo area with a unique blend of office and student districts. At night, suited businessmen and students cross paths, creating a calm, mature atmosphere perfect for a relaxed evening out.

Geographically, it's a transport hub served by the JR Chuo/Sobu lines, Tokyo Metro Marunouchi and Namboku lines. Yotsuya Station is the center, with Ichigaya and Iidabashi stations within walking distance, each surrounded by restaurants and nightlife spots.

The nightlife centers on table-service venues like hostess bars (kyabakura), girls bars, snack bars, and concept cafes. It's less flashy than Shinjuku or Roppongi, with mostly small-scale venues at reasonable prices. Hostess bars typically cost ¥5,000–8,000 per hour, girls bars ¥3,000–5,000.

Many snack bars retain a nostalgic atmosphere where regulars chat with the mama. Concept cafes themed around anime or games are growing in popularity among younger crowds. Karaoke snack bars are also scattered around for casual singing.

Access is excellent, with many venues within a few minutes' walk from Yotsuya Station. However, as an office district, weekends can be quieter. Weekday nights and Fridays are the busiest.

Note that some hostess bars and girls bars may not have English-speaking staff, so check in advance if you don't speak Japanese. Some snack bars are membership-only, so it's best to make a reservation beforehand.
