Some venues take cards and some do not, and those that do may add a surcharge or set a minimum spend.
Whether a credit card is accepted differs from venue to venue, and many hostess clubs and snack bars are cash-only. Where cards are taken, the venue may add a handling fee, accept cards only above a certain amount, or take only certain brands. Even if a listing shows Card OK, confirm with the venue before you go in.
In case cards are not accepted, it is reassuring to know you can withdraw cash at a convenience store ATM; they accept cards issued overseas. Your statement may show the operating company's name instead of the venue's.
