Receipt
領収書 · ryoushuusho
Also known as: ryoushuusho
Proof of payment issued on request at the bill; you are asked whose name to put on it, and it may be in the operating company's name rather than the venue's.
A ryoshusho is a document certifying what you paid, issued if you ask for one when you settle the bill. You will be asked for the addressee, so give a company name or your own. There is also the generic form uesama, used when you do not want a specific name on it.
At nightlife venues the receipt is sometimes issued in the name of the operating company rather than the venue. If it does not itemise the charges, take the itemised bill as well; it is useful if you later want to check the prices or report a charge that differs from the listing.
When you'll encounter this
You meet it when staff ask at the bill whether you need a receipt, and when claiming business entertainment expenses.
