Himeji is a city in Hyogo where Otemae-dori links JR Himeji Station with Himeji Castle. The city rebuilt that avenue as Himeji's main street.
According to the Himeji Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Special Rapid Service reaches JR Himeji in about 37 minutes from Sannomiya. For a shinkansen departure from Shin-Osaka, the quoted journey is about 28 minutes, though the bureau cautions that Himeji is passed by some Nozomi services.
