Uji City is about 20 minutes from Kyoto Station on the JR Nara Line. Straddling the Uji River, the main nightlife spots cluster around JR Uji Station and the shopping street near Keihan Uji Station.
The night scene is dominated by snack bars and girls bars. Snack bars are small, run by a mama, where you can relax with karaoke. Girls bars are casual, with just a drink fee. There are almost no kyabakura or host clubs, and only a few concept cafes.
