Overlooking Mount Fuji, this area bustles with tourists during the day, but at night a quiet entertainment district emerges where locals gather. Around Numazu Station and Mishima Hirokoji, small neon-lit alleys spread out, filled with regulars rather than tourists.
The area is vast, spanning multiple cities: Numazu, Mishima, Fuji, Gotemba, and Izunokuni. Each station front serves as a nightlife hub, with bars clustered within walking distance. Numazu Station's south exit and Mishima Station's north exit are particularly lively at night.
The main nightlife venues are hostess bars (kyabakura) and girls bars. Numazu has over 20 hostess bars concentrated in one area, with rates averaging ¥5,000–8,000 per hour. Mishima has more girls bars, offering a casual vibe at ¥3,000–5,000 per hour. Snack bars are scattered near each station, providing a social space for adults to chat with the mama. Concept cafes are few, but there are a couple of anime-themed ones in Fuji City.
Gotemba and Izunokuni are smaller, centered on snack bars and small girls bars. As tourist destinations, late-night options are limited. Overall, the atmosphere is homey rather than flashy, unlike Tokyo or Osaka.
Access is convenient via JR Tokaido Line and Shinkansen. From Tokyo, Numazu Station is about an hour by Shinkansen. Most places close by 10 PM, so it's best to start early. Friday and Saturday nights are busiest; weekdays are quiet.
For foreign visitors, some venues may not speak English. Hostess bars increasingly have English menus, but girls bars often are Japanese-only. Choose places with transparent pricing for peace of mind.

Fuji / Numazu / Mishima / Gotemba / Izunokuni is generally fine for a night out. The main risk is bottakuri, a padded bill at the end.
