Kashiwa/Matsudo

The areas around Kashiwa Station and Matsudo Station are among the top nightlife spots in Chiba Prefecture. As dusk approaches, neon signs light up, and the streets fill with office workers, students, and foreign tourists.

Kashiwa's east and west exits, and Matsudo's south and north exits, each have distinct streets. Kashiwa's east exit is particularly dense with restaurants and nightclubs, while Matsudo's station front has many snack bars and girls bars.

The main nightlife here is kyabakura (hostess bars) and girls bars, with relatively reasonable prices. Kyabakura typically cost 3,000–5,000 yen per 30 minutes, and girls bars 2,000–4,000 yen per hour. There are also many snack bars and concept cafes, with snack bars popular among regular locals.

Nightlife in Kashiwa and Matsudo is more casual and accessible than in Tokyo's entertainment districts. Many kyabakura and girls bars welcome non-Japanese speakers. Concept cafes themed around anime or games are popular with younger crowds.

Access is convenient: Kashiwa Station is served by the JR Joban Line and Tobu Noda Line, and Matsudo Station by the JR Joban Line and Shin-Keisei Line, about 30–60 minutes from Tokyo. Taxis are available at night, but queues can be long after last train.

The best time to visit is Friday and Saturday nights. First-timers can ask at station information centers or hotels for recommendations. At kyabakura and girls bars, it's advisable to confirm the pricing system before entering.
