Sumiyoshi / Minoshima is a district of Hakata Ward, Fukuoka. Fukuoka Prefecture's tourism site describes the Minoshima shopping street as a place where Showa-era charm meets the new.
The prefecture's tourism site says to take a Nishitetsu bus from the Hakata Station Post Office stop or the Hakata Station Center Building stop and get off at Minoshima 2-chome or Minoshima 1-chome for the shopping street.
Hakata Ward's list of road nicknames includes Sumiyoshi Miyamae-dori, Minoshima-dori and the Minoshima Rengo Shotengai-dori among the streets of this district. Public sources treat the area as a neighbourhood of shops and homes.
