Step out of Kawasaki Station and neon signs flood your vision. The streets stretching from the station are lined with signs for hostess bars and girls bars, signaling the start of the nightlife district.

Kawasaki's nightlife area is split between the east and west exits. The east exit has drinking streets like Ginza Street and Nakamise-dori, while the west exit has bars and clubs scattered around La Cittadella.

On the main streets, hostess bars and girls bars are densely packed. Particularly on the east side's Ginza Street, there are many snack bars and concept cafes, with prices often half of Tokyo's. Even first-timers can easily find a place to drop in.

The appeal of Kawasaki's nightlife is its affordability. Hostess bars typically charge ¥3,000–5,000 for 60 minutes, while girls bars are even cheaper at around ¥2,000. At snack bars, chatting with the mama is the standard experience.

Access is excellent—just 15 minutes from Tokyo by train. Last trains run late, but be aware of late-night surcharges. Friday and Saturday nights are the busiest.

For first-time visitors, starting at a girls bar near the station is recommended. More and more places offer English menus, making this area friendly to foreign tourists.
