Takatsu Ward (around Mizonokuchi)

Exiting the north exit of Mizonokuchi Station, neon signs catch your eye. Under the elevated tracks and in back alleys, small snack bars and girls bars are packed together, with the laughter of office workers and students filling the air. This area has a particularly down-to-earth nightlife face within Kawasaki.

Streets radiate from the station plaza, lined with restaurants. The south exit area is relatively calm, but nightlife venues are concentrated around the north exit. It's a compact town where you can walk to everything.

The main nightlife options are hostess bars (kyabakura) and girls bars. Many hostess bars are in buildings a few minutes from the station, with rates around 5,000–8,000 yen per hour. Girls bars are more casual, costing 3,000–5,000 yen per hour. Snack bars are also plentiful, popular as adult social spots where you can chat with the mama.

Izakayas are abundant, from chain stores to individually owned shops. In particular, the "Ginza-dori" street near the station has many old snack bars and small restaurants, bustling with local regulars. Concept cafes and lounges are fewer, but there are some quiet bars scattered around.

Access is convenient via the Tokyu Den-en-toshi Line and JR Nambu Line, about 20 minutes from Shibuya and 15 minutes from Kawasaki Station. Last trains are relatively early, so consider a taxi or staying overnight if you plan to stay out late.

When visiting, it's recommended to confirm the fee before entering hostess bars or girls bars. Snack bars may charge a cover fee, so checking in advance is wise. Since many regulars are local, first-timers might consider using a guided tour.
