Teine is an area of Teine Ward in Sapporo. The ward's official site lists community centres for each of its districts: Teine, Teine-Teppoku, Maeda, Shin-Hassamu, Tomioka-Nishimiyanosawa, Inaho-Kanayama and Hoshioki.

Sapporo’s designated area is central: its four bounding roads are Nishi 7-chome, Sosei River Avenue, Kita 8-jo and Minami 7-jo. Within the public spaces of that area, the ordinance prohibits both carrying out touting and directing others to do it. The ordinance took full effect on 1 July 2022.
Teine is generally fine for a night out. The main risk is bottakuri, a padded bill at the end. Stick to venues that post their prices, skip street touts steering you into ‘free’ bars, and confirm the set fee plus any nomination or bottle charges before you order.
