Wada Town / Tsurugamine

Wada Town and Tsurugamine are quiet, local-oriented nightlife spots tucked away in the residential Asahi Ward of Yokohama. Near the stations, you'll find old-school snack bars and small girls bars scattered along shopping streets and back alleys. The atmosphere is unpretentious and homey, far from the glitz of central Yokohama.

Wada Town Station is on the Sotetsu Line, and Tsurugamine Station serves both the Sotetsu Line and the Yokohama Municipal Subway. Both are about 15–20 minutes from Yokohama Station, making them easily accessible. The nightlife venues are concentrated within walking distance of each station, so the area is compact and easy to explore.

The main nightlife here consists of snack bars and girls bars, with a few hostess bars (kyabakura) and concept cafes. Prices are reasonable: snack bars typically charge a cover of ¥1,000–2,000, and girls bars run about ¥2,000–3,000 per hour. This is not a tourist hotspot but a place where locals unwind after work.

Venues are tucked into small buildings and alleys, with modest signage. Snack bars are for chatting with the mama and regulars, while girls bars offer a casual, drink-focused experience. If you're looking for high-end hostess clubs or partying, head to Yokohama Station area instead.

Getting around is easy on foot. Last trains are relatively early, so consider a taxi if you stay late. Since it's a residential area, keep noise down and be respectful. For first-timers, starting at a snack bar or girls bar near the station is a safe bet.
